Terms of use

These terms cover Spredin LITE, the free Mac app made by G & G Homology Pty Ltd (ACN 661 168 958), and this website. They are short on purpose, and written to be read.

The licence#

You may install and use Spredin LITE on any Mac you own or control, for any purpose, personal or commercial, for as long as you like. It is free and it stays free.

You may not sell it, rent it out, or pass it off as your own; you may not remove the notices inside it; and you may not tamper with the part of it that checks an update's signature. The open-source components it is built from come under their own licences, which are listed in Acknowledgements and inside the app under Help.

Your work#

Everything you make with Spredin is yours. Your workbooks are files on your Mac, and we never have them. Our privacy page says what little the app and this site do see.

The AI features#

Spredin can ask an AI model to write scripts for you, and you choose which model and where it runs. If you point it at a hosted provider with your own key, what you send goes to that provider under their terms and privacy policy; we are not party to that arrangement. Nor do we vouch for what a model writes: read a generated script before you rely on it, as you would a colleague's.

Updates#

The app checks for updates once a day and installs one only when you say so. We may stop providing updates for older versions.

As is#

Spredin LITE is provided free, as is and as available. We work hard on it, but we do not promise it is free of errors or that it suits any particular purpose. Keep backups of work that matters; a .sprd file is ordinary JSON inside a zip, and it is yours to copy.

Liability#

To the extent the law allows, G & G Homology Pty Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of Spredin LITE or this website, and any liability we cannot exclude is limited, at our choice, to supplying the software again or the cost of doing so.

Nothing in these terms excludes the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other right you have that cannot be excluded by agreement.

We may update these terms; the date at the top says when. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Questions are welcome at feedback@spredin.com.
